Around Juneau

The capital city of Juneau is a very small city located on an island. It is surrounded by huge mountains cut by glaciers. Some of the glaciers are still there. The middle of the city has a big hill that separates the tourist shops from the rest of the city. This road along the edge of the harbor provides level access. The mural on a parking facility by the dock celebrates the building of the modern dock with the civic leaders in old time dress that planned and implemented a modern dock arrangement that can accommodate 3 massive cruise ships at a time without tendering.
